MT #1: Performing in the 'Zone': Learning your Ideal Performance State
High level performance is related to highly distinctive emotional state. For athletes to consistently perform towards the upper range of their talent and skill they must be able to create the right kind of emotional climate within themselves. Very successful athletes know how to create this ideal performance state which
they associate with their excellent performances.
In this workshop you will: compare emotional states from finest and worst performances, identify distractions that affect your emotional state & learn skills and procedures that will allow you to enter and remain in the ideal performance state.
MT #2: Champion Concentration Skills: Keeping focus and managing mistakes
What are the mental characteristics that separate athletes like (list more recent champion athletes) from all others. These athletes have the tremendous ability to pay attention to task-relevant information and respond with the appropriate performance. Because of their concentration skills they make fewer mistakes than other athletes and, when they do, they recover very quickly.
In this workshop you will: learn to assess your concentration skills, identify patterns in concentration errors, & learn how to manage mistakes.
MT #3: Language of Excellence: positive & negative self talk
Just as athletes require a “Breakfast of Champions” to fuel their performance, they also need to engage in a “Language of Excellence” if they are to perform at a championship level. A key mental skill of champion athletes is their systematic use of powerful language statements. The language of the body is not just works but also images. With the use of powerful language – words and images – athletes create powerful, positive emotions and feelings that get them into an ideal emotional state that enhances their performance
In this workshop you will: identify factors that lead to good & bad performances, learn how to write affirmation statements, learn how to find your personal cue words that will help maintain your emotional control.
MT #4: Mentally Peaking for competitions: visualization, centering & relaxation
In the weeks leading up to major competitions, athletes follow routines and procedures that are designed to optimally prepare them to be in the “GoldMind” state on competition day. It is not unusual for athletes to follow a set of pre-competitive strategies for days prior to a competition/tournament, and up to three weeks before a major competition.
NUT #1: Quick & Healthy Eating
This session will provide you with great practical do’s and don’ts for making healthy and quick lunches and snacks. You will also learn about power snacks and hydration needs to consider before, during and after practices.
NUT #2: Quick & Healthy Eating on the Road
What you eat while you’re traveling to a competition is just as important as what you eat on game day. Need some guidance deciding what, when and where to eat? This session provides practical strategies for optimum sports nutrition at the hotel and competitive site.
