LINKS AND RESOURCES Winning Characteristics (2005) - This document identifies the set of criteria used to locate sport schools on a continuum based on the school’s integration of sport and education. The continuum uses a four point rubric consisting of 29 measures in three major categories (Gold, Silver and Bronze). Sport school programs can use this instrument for developing and improving their programs. Resource Toolkit (2003) - The Resource Toolkit provides information about starting a sport academy including the different phases involved and other useful information. Schools Search Database - The Ministry of Education School Choices database of all 1654 public schools in the province by name, city or level (elementary, middle, or secondary) and all 5165 specialties. Board Authorized Authority (BAA) Course Database - BC School Trustees Association database of courses offered by School Boards or Independent School Authorities to meet local needs and student interests. Database of Sport Oriented BAA Courses - listing of all BAA courses related to sport offered in BC as of January 2010. External Courses (Grade 10-12) - Courses available to students in Grades 10 - 12, see External Sport Credits. BC School Sports - Encourages student participation in extra-curricular athletics, assists schools in the development and delivery of their programs and provides governance for interschool competition.
