CANADIAN SPORT CENTRE NETWORK
“Supporting the Dream…”

Canadian Sport Centre Pacific is a member of the Canadian Sport Centre Network (CSC Network).  The Centres’ mandate is to support athletes capable of winning medals for Canada on the international stage.

The CSCs were established as central administrative offices for athletes and coaches to access programs and services in their regions.  The first Centre opened its doors in Calgary in 1994. Calgary was chosen to pilot the multi-sport centre concept because many of the winter sport facilities were already in place, the legacy of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games. Similarly, the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria and the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg left a rich endowment of summer sport facilities.

During the past 12 years, additional high performance training centres have been established in the CSC Pacific region - with campuses in Victoria and Vancouver - Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Montreal and Atlantic region. It is through these Centres that athletes and coaches receive enhanced support to complement those programs and services already provided by their respective provincial sport organizations and/or national sport federations.  Over the past few years there has been a shift from a service-based model, and several of the CSCs are now exploring plans for the building and construction of sport facilities.

In a short period of time, the network of Centres has made a significant impact on the preparation of Canada’s high performance athletes for international competition.

CSC Network Mission:  To support high performance athletes in their pursuit of podium performances at the Olympic and Paralympic Games and other international competitions, by fair and ethical means.

CSC Network Philosophy:  We strive to provide a positive and comprehensive environment with an array of programs and services that meet the individual needs of high performance athletes and their coaches. We ensure that maximum utilization of Centre resources is achieved through creation of partnerships and teamwork.
