CSC Pacific Athlete Travel Grant  

CSC Pacific recognizes the need for financial aid to support the training and competitive needs of national-calibre athletes across the province of BC. The intent of the Athlete Travel Grant is to provide qualified athletes with travel assistance through the support of CSC Pacific and the former PacificSport Vancouver-Sea to Sky Regional Centre.

Selection of deserving athletes will be based on the following criteria:

  • athletes must be BC residents registered with CSC Pacific Vancouver or Whistler Campuses
  • athletes must be applying for a National or International calibre competition (i.e. Senior Nationals, Major Games Trials, Olympic/Paralympic Trials, World Championships);
  • athletes must be registered at the BC Development or BC Elite service levels;
  • athletes must have been identified by their respective Provincial or National Sport Organization according to CSC Pacific’s athlete eligibility criteria;
  • the maximum annual allocation of funds will not exceed $1000.00 to any one athlete;
  • athletes must submit an outline of their costs related to the competition, as well as copies of receipts for all the major expenses (i.e. airfare, accommodations);
  • applicants must provide a written letter of support and confirmation of the competition from their coach (max. 100 words);
  • applicants must agree to attend a minimum of 2 Sport Education sessions or complete 4 hours of volunteer work with their appropriate CSC Pacific Campus during the fiscal year in which they are grant recipients.

Application Details:

The Travel Advisory Committee will meet two (2) times per fiscal year to review grant applications and disperse funds.

The next deadline to submit applications is Friday, October 29, 2010 at 4:00pm.

Applications should be sent to the Athlete/Coach Services Coordinator for CSC Pacific Whistler or Vancouver before the application deadline.

Growing Champions

Growing Champions is a financial assistance program that gives businesses the opportunity to support the dreams and aspirations of high-performance athletes.  Growing Champions is a partnership between 2010 Legacies Now, Canadian Sport Centre Pacific/PacificSport, BC Athlete Voice and the Province of BC. To be eligible for this program, you must be a currently registered CSC Pacific/PacificSport athlete, competing at the national or international levels but not Sport Canada AAP carded.  To learn more about the Growing Champions, please visit their website at www.growingchampions.ca.

Coast Arts & Athletics Program

Coast Hotels & Resorts Arts and Athletics Program (CAAP) has been developed to support the dreams of athletes who represent Canada on the world stage. To be eligible, athletes must be registered with their respective CSC Pacific or PacificSport Centre and in good standing with their Provincial and National Sport Organizations. Preference will be given to athletes currently training with Canadian development and senior national teams who are not Sport Canada AAP carded.  

Coast Hotels & Resorts will pay the approved training costs of selected athletes, up to a maximum of $10,000 on an annual basis, including such eligible items as:

  • training and coaching fees
  • competition expenses (travel and fees)
  • sport medicine and science expenses
  • uniforms and sport apparel expenses for training and competition

The award will be for one year, renewable annually for a three-year period, based on maintenance of eligibility and completion of the pre-determined deliverables.
