Growing Champions
Growing Champions is a financial assistance program that gives businesses the opportunity to support the dreams and aspirations of high-performance athletes in BC. To be eligible for this program, you must be currently registered with CSC Pacific/PacificSport and competing at the national or international levels. BC Ferries Sport Experience Program
Together BC Ferries and Sport BC offer a financial assistance program that aims to offset the cost of athletes traveling to and from competitions by ferry.  To be eligible for the program, applicants must be competing in a sport that is a member organization of Sport BC.  Applications are accepted between April 1st, 2011 and March 31st, 2012.  For eligibility criteria and application details, please visit their website at http://sportbc.com/membership-information/member-discount/bc-ferries/.

CAN Fund
CAN Fund is a financial assistance program available to active national team athletes training to represent Canada internationally. It provides direct funding to athletes, creating the opportunity to focus on success instead of on unnecessary financial hurdles, such as training, coaching, and nutrition fees.  To learn more about CAN Fund, please visit their website at www.canadianathletesnow.ca.
Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund
AthletesCAN, in partnership with the Investors Group, award twenty Canadian amateur athletes with the Team Investors Group Amateur Athletes Fund each year. The $5,000 bursary is available to senior national team athletes based on selection criteria including athletic achievement, financial need and community involvement.  To learn more about this bursary, visit www.athletescan.com.

CSC Pacific Athlete Travel Grant
Canadian Sport Centre Pacific (CSC Pacific) recognizes the need for financial aid to support the competitive  needs of amateur athletes in British Columbia.  The intent of the CSC Pacific Athlete Travel Grant is to provide provincially and nationally targeted athletes with travel assistance towards their participation in national and international competitions.

 

 Eligibility
Each year, CSC Pacific will award twenty grants valued at $500 to deserving athletes based on the following criteria:
• athlete must be a BC resident registered with CSC Pacific Vancouver, Whistler or Victoria Campuses;
• athletes must be identified by their respective Provincial or National Sport Organization according to CSC Pacific’s athlete eligibility criteria;
• athletes must be actively registered with CSC Pacific at the Provincial Development or Canadian Development service level*;
• athletes must be applying for a national or international competition (i.e. Junior or Senior Nationals, Junior/Senior World Championships, Olympic/Paralympic Trials, World Cup Events, etc);
• the maximum annual allocation of funds will not exceed $500.00 to any one athlete;
• athlete must be applying for a competition that will take place 6 months prior to or after the application deadline;

*Note: Based on the number of applications received, priority may be given to athletes identified at the Canadian Development level.

Application Process
The following must be included with the completed application form:
• a written letter of support from their primary coach confirming athlete’s participation at the competition (max. 100 words);
• a detailed outline of all travel costs (i.e. airfare, ground transportation, ferry, etc) related to the competition, and if available, copy of receipts for all relevant expenses;

Applications must be submitted by mail to the athlete’s appropriate CSC Pacific Campus prior to the application deadline. Incomplete, faxed and/or emailed applications will be not be accepted.

Rising Star Grant
Canadian Sport Centre Pacific (CSC Pacific) recognizes the need for financial aid to support the competitive needs of amateur athletes in British Columbia.  The Rising Star Grant is made possible on the strength of an endowment fund created in the name of the 14,000 volunteers who helped stage the successful Commonwealth Games in 1994. 

Eligibility
CSC Pacific will award four grants valued at $500 to deserving athletes based on the following criteria:

  • Athlete must be a BC resident registered with CSC Pacific Victoria Campus;
  • Athlete must be identified by their respective Provincial or National Sport Organization according to CSC Pacific’s athlete eligibility criteria; emphasis of selection criteria will be given to developing athletes (ie, preference given to athletes based on the following order: Canadian Development Level 1/1A, Provincial Development Level 2/3);
  • Maximum annual allocation of funds will not exceed $500 to any one athlete;
  • Athlete must be able to demonstrate a high standard of achievement in other areas such as education, culture, community service, sport volunteer work, etc.;
  • Athlete must submit a quality, completed application form signed by their coach, and submitted before the deadline.

Application Process

The following must be included with the completed application form:

  • A written letter of support from their primary coach (max. 1 page)
  • Attach a cover letter  (max. 1 page)
  • Attach a volunteer reference letter  (max. 1 page)
  • Email a digital photo (action or head and shoulder shot) to adearden@cscpacific.ca

Selection Process
CSC Pacific will receive and administer all applications for the Rising Star Grant. Complete applications will be provided to the selection committee who will determine the recipients based on the allocation of funds available and caliber of applications.
