INTERNATIONAL COACHING SCHOOL

The International Coaching School will take place from Friday, August 27th to Thursday, September 2nd and will offer a wide variety of coach education options at the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence in Victoria, B.C. 

The Development Stream will include a variety of NCCP Competition-Development modules including: 

Making Ethical Decisions
Designing a Sport Program
Conflict Resolution
Leading Drug Free Sport
Coaching and Leading Effectively
Developing Athletic Abilities
Prevention and Recovery
Psychology of Performance

For those who require Level 3 theory equivalency you must take 'Making Ethical Decisions' and 'Designing a Sport Program' plus any four of the six Competition Development Modules . All of these modules will be available at the ICS.

Coaches in the High Performance Stream who are currently working toward Level 4 or NCI diploma requirements will be able to select from a variety of level 4 tasks including: 

Task 1 – Energy Systems
Task 6 - Recovery   
Task 12 – Planning and Periodization
Task 17 – Leadership
 Task 18 - Self-Awareness and Personal Management

Sam's work with the CSC Pacific includes the design, fabrication, and testing of cutting edge sport measurement and feedback systems. He also helps national teams look for new ways to enhance their current systems and technologies.

Anne's experience as both a High Performance athlete and Sport Administrator will help to highlight the importance of partnerships in the sport sector and will focus on the role of Own The Podium in the Canadian Sport System and the need for collaboration to ensure success for high performance athletes and coaches. This talk is a must for coaches, administrators, parents, and sport enthusiasts who volunteer for local clubs or major provincial sport organizations.
