OTHER COACHING GRANTS & BURSARIES

Funding programs specifically designed to enhance the professional employment conditions/standards for performance coaches registered with the Canadian Sport Centre Pacific, and to provide additional resources for athletes to attend training camps and competitions required for their performance development.  Grants and bursaries may vary depending on PacificSport Centre.  Please check the Centre in your area for up to date coach services information.

CoachFund™: The goal of the CoachFund™ program is to provide coaches with salaries in partnership with the National, Provincial and Local Sport Federations. Coaches hired through the Integrated Performance System (IPS) must register with the PacificSport Centre in their region to access CoachFundTM.

GrantBank™: The goal of the GrantBank™ program is to provide NCCP certified coaches registered with CSC Pacific access to a list of educational scholarships and bursaries.

Athlete Bursaries: CSC Pacific works with community partners to develop meaningful finanical support for CSC Pacific registered athletes. The program is designed to connect interested community partners with high performance athletes. An example of a successful program is the Coast Hotel and Resorts "Coast Athlete Assistance Program" (CAAP).

Coast Hotels developed the CAAP to support the dreams of athletes who represent Canada on the world stage. CAAP assists athletes currently training with one of Canada’s National teams but who do not currently receive Sport Canada funding. The program gives Coast employees the opportunities to give back to their community with the assistance of their employer and to foster a relationship with a world class athlete. CSC Pacific partners with Coast Hotels to deliver the CAAP program. Every June, the Coast Hotels & Resorts Annual Golf Classic is held to raise funds supporting CAAP. The weather is usually superb, the prizes are plentiful and the benefits to the charities are immeasurable. In the first year of the Coast Athlete Assistance Program (CAAP), participating hotels raised $105,000 in support of non-funded national athletes.
