The Level 2, January-April has just finished up.
Applications are now being accepted for the upcoming session which will begin in late April:
Level 1/2 combined (Abbotsford)

Training
The gymnastics and strength and conditioning sessions are each 90 minutes, whereas the sprint training session is 60 minutes.

IGNITE Lead Coach - Brian Justin, MHK, CES, CSCS
Brian is a Kinesiology Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford. He earned his Masters and Bachelor degrees from the University of British Columbia. Brian’s areas of concentration are exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, injury management, and exercise testing and prescription. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through CSEP. Additionally Brian is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSEP- Certified Personal Trainer, CHEK Level 1 Practitioner (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiologist) and NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Brian’s clientele has ranged from post-rehabilitation to recreational and varsity athletes and everything in between. In addition to teaching students and training clients, he also authors manuals and articles and has contributed to 4 chapters in Human Kinetics Publisher’s book “Foundations of Professional Personal Training”. Brian is a strong proponent of physical activity for health, performance, and injury prevention.
IGNITE Sprint Training Coach - Kim Chapdelaine
Kim is the director and coach of the High Performance Centre with the Langley-based Mustangs Track and Field Club. She is a Level 3 NCCP coach (National Coach Certification Program) and has an undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Saskatoon and an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (with Psychology minor) from Simon Fraser University. Her background includes: 2007-2008 Assistant Head coach University of Alberta, 2005-2007 Head Power speed coach Valley Royals and Regional coach for Lower Fraser Valley. Other area’s Kim has coached: Head coach Bishop University, Laval University, Assistant Sherbrooke University, Mentor Coach for” Women In Coaching” African delegation, coached on 6 national teams, and represented Canada on 7 National teams (L.J. Hurdles and Heptathlon).

IGNITE Gymnastics Coach - Lisa Naubert
Lisa has been involved in the sport of gymnastics for over 30 years as a gymnast, coach and judge. In the 1980’s she competed at the national level for the province of Saskatchewan. Currently an NCCP 3 certified coach, Lisa started coaching at age 13 and now has more than 25 years of coaching experience. Lisa has been selected as a team coach to BC Games, Western Canada Summer Games, Western Canadian Championships, and National Championships on a regular basis since 1996. She has developed athletes from beginner to national stream including preparation for NCAA competition.
IGNITE Strength & Conditioning Coach - Andrew Heming
IGNITE Strength & Conditioning Coach - Sherry Hunt, MSc
Sherry has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Fraser Valley and will soon complete her Master of Science degree at UBC where she ponders the ideal exercise prescriptions for breast cancer survivors. Sherry is a registered Kinesiologist with the BC Association of Kinesiologists and will become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist via the National Strength and Conditioning Association (Spring, 2012).
Dragon boating and kayaking dominate her coaching experience, making use of her NCCP certification. Sherry has been involved with the Ridge Canoe and Kayak Club (RCKC) since 1994, beginning as an athlete and now also serving as a volunteer, coach and parent. Her daughter is a dedicated paddler.
Sherry’s consistent training for National level kayaking competitions has provided her with an athletic foundation for winning World Championship medals in both dragon boat and outrigger canoe disciplines. She continues to train in kayak for fun and fitness, planning to resume international competition in outrigger canoe. She also competes recreationally in road cycling.
In complement to her high performance athlete and coaching experience and insights, Sherry’s strong connections to the sport communities in Maple Ridge and Mission will serve her well in her position as Sport Performance Coordinator with PacificSport Fraser Valley.
